Personal Development
Our Personal Development curriculum at the Everest Academy is designed to cultivate, direct and educate the minds of young individuals to ensuring they are well-equipped for life in modern Britain. It develops students' understanding of how to be responsible, active citizens who contribute positively towards society, in addition to navigating their own individual lives in a positive and healthy way.
The Personal Development curriculum runs parallel to the high-quality pastoral support within school, inclusive of students’ Heads of Year and their individual pastoral tutor, to ensure every student is supported academically and personally.
In addition to curriculum time, Everest will promote external speakers, enrichment activities, tutor-time, assemblies and extra-curricular activities to support students’ personal development.
The Personal Development curriculum includes:
-
PSHE (including RSE)
-
British Values
-
Statutory Safeguarding Requirements
-
SMSC
-
Mental and Physical Health
-
Revision Skills and Careers
All resources delivered to students are age appropriate, thus, the curriculum is divided into KS3 and KS4 content.
